There is no account and nothing to sign up for. Your settings, tasks and saved setups stay in your own browser. We use Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show one ad, and both use cookies.

Your scene, soundscape, volume, timer settings, focus note, tasks, saved setups and the current session are kept in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data for steadbrook.com removes them.

To work offline, Steadbrook also keeps its pages and the last few soundscapes you listened to in your browser's cache.

To count people rather than tabs, your browser makes up a random id and sends it when it connects. It is not linked to who you are, is held in memory only while you are connected, and is never written to a log or a database.

Steadbrook runs on Cloudflare. Like any website, requests reach a server, and Cloudflare's request logs — which include your IP address, the page asked for and your browser type — are kept for up to 7 days to diagnose errors, then deleted.

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which features get used — for example that a timer was started or a soundscape was picked. It sets cookies to tell visits apart. It does not tell us who you are. How Google uses this data.

One banner on the focus screen is served by Google AdSense, which pays for Steadbrook. Google and its partners use cookies to show and measure ads, and may use them to personalise the ads you see across sites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings.

Steadbrook is not directed at children under 13.
